With a diverse array of instruments, "The Joyful Kilians" celebrate music from the Victorian era. Touching songs tell stories of love, longing and wandering. Snappy jigs, reels and hornpipes invite a dance. Harriet and Lawrence Kilian transport the audience to the world of Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde and Queen Victoria. Lawrence conjures melodies and sound carpets on Irish harp, key fiddle, mandolin, guitar, wood whistle, bouzouki, bagpipes and Harriet adds the rhythm with frame drum, davul, spoons and washboard.
